Frankfurt-Oder - a green city - During your visit to Frankfurt-Oder, be sure to visit some of the city's parks and green spaces. In the upper town is the Kleistpark, named after Heinrich von Kleist. In addition to some memorial and grave stones for famous sons and daughters of the city, the children look forward to the playgrounds in the park. A trip to the Kleistpark is fun for the whole family. There is also a botanical garden not far from Kleistpark.

We then continue to the Lennépark right in the city center. The park is the second oldest public park in Germany and was built in the English style. Along the Oder you can also stroll along the Oder Promenade, which has been nicely designed with trees, playgrounds and works of art. From the Kleisthaus it goes along the Oder to the winter port.

One of the most worth seeing places in the city is the Frankfurt city forest with the rose garden. There is also a wildlife park at the entrance to the city forest, where deer and goats live, among other things.

Frankfurt-Oder is a very bike-friendly city, so you can also explore the parks and green areas by bike. Some of the parks have a very long history and their tradition is deeply rooted in the city. The Lennépark in its current form was created between 1825 and 1845. That is why there are some 200-year-old trees in the park.
